Swimming in the winter? Sounds crazy, but we did it! Yesterday, we went to Ray's Splash Planet, an indoor water park. The water was heated, of course, and it was very pleasant. It was a lot of fun, and a good way to spend the morning. They have a great toddler section with slides and waterfalls to go under. Yesterday morning when I was getting Caroline ready to go, I told her we were going to the pool. So, all morning long she kept saying, "Pool! pool!"
Caroline's friends, Ali and Samuel and their mommies, Chrissie and Mindi, joined us in this adventure. Caroline was hesitant at first and wanted me to hold her, but Ali just dove right in! She is fearless and it was so fun to watch her. Samuel wasn't so fond of the water and didn't want to get in. He couldn't stay long because he got really tired. After a while, Caroline decided she wanted to splash around in the water, but wouldn't go down any of the slides. When we went on the tubes in the lazy river section, she was calling the tubes boats! I guess that is what they looked like to her. :) We will have to go back again. They have a toddler day on the second Monday of every month, so we will definitely have to check that out. Caroline took a 3 hour nap after going to Ray's! It wore her out for sure! She has been on a nap strike lately, only napping no more than an hour a day. I think she enjoys playing so much and is afraid she will be missing out on something if she goes to sleep. We hope next time more friends can join us when we go back to Ray's Splash Planet!
